Application email or letter for a dental clinic
Forget the two-page cover letter: in dental clinics, a clear five-line email does the job. Here is the template, and the details that get you a call back.

Do you need a cover letter for a dental clinic?
Rarely: a short, precise email replaces the letter to advantage. The operations manager wants to know in ten seconds who you are, which position you want, your availability and how to reach you. The attached resume does the rest.
Which email subject line should you use?
Precise: « Application – Dental hygienist – available from November » or « Application – Dental assistant – Vaudreuil-Dorion ». A clear subject line gets filed and found; « Hello » or « CV » gets lost. On Go Dentiste’s job pages, the apply button already fills in the subject.
What do the five essential lines contain?
1) The position and the clinic. 2) Your licence or diploma and years of experience. 3) Two or three skills related to the posting. 4) Your availability (full-time or part-time, evenings, weekends, start date). 5) Your phone and the best time to reach you. Then a polite closing and the attached resume.
A concrete example?
« Hello Ms. Milton, I am a dental hygienist, member of the OHDQ, with six years of experience in family clinics, comfortable in periodontics and radiography. I am available full-time from November 1, preferably in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and every other Saturday in Valleyfield. Please find my resume attached; I can be reached at 450-… after 3 p.m. Thank you for your attention. »
Should you personalize for each clinic?
Yes, in two sentences: why this clinic (new opening, implantology, proximity) and what you bring. Personalization shows you read the job page; generic emails sent to twenty clinics are spotted immediately.
When and how should you follow up?
After five to seven business days without a reply, with a short email or a call: « I am checking that you received my application of November 3; I remain available. » One polite follow-up is enough; serious clinics call back quickly anyway.
How do you write a spontaneous application?
Same structure, stating that you are applying without a posted opening and indicating the position and availability. Growing clinics keep spontaneous applications for their openings: Go Dentiste is already recruiting for Saint-Zotique in 2027.
Which mistakes should you avoid?
Spelling errors, missing availability, missing or badly named attachment (name it « Firstname-Lastname-Resume.pdf »), casual tone, email sent from your current work address, and a salary request in the first line. Save salary for the interview.
Is email the only way to apply?
No: calling the clinic, using the website’s application assistant or dropping by with your resume also work, especially for assistant and front desk positions. On Go Dentiste’s job pages, the assistant asks three questions and forwards your request directly to Maryse Milton.
What happens after you apply at Go Dentiste?
Maryse Milton calls back quickly, often the same day, for a first conversation; then a clinic visit and a meeting with the team, then a clear answer. Positions are described on the Careers page; each job page has its own apply button.
