Cosmetic injections by a dentist in Valleyfield and Vaudreuil-Dorion

Cosmetic injections by a dentist include neuromodulators (botulinum toxin, Botox-type) to soften expression lines and relax the jaw muscles, and hyaluronic acid fillers to restore volume to the lips and lower face. At Go Dentiste, they are performed by Dr. Lilian Carvalho, dentist, under the Injection Esthétique banner, at both clinics.

Cosmetic injections by a dentist: what you need to know

Dentists know the anatomy of the face, its muscles and nerves in detail, and inject in the mouth and around it every day. In Quebec, dentists trained in facial injections may perform neuromodulator and filler treatments for the lower face and, within the scope permitted by their order, other areas of the face. The approach at Go Dentiste is measured: subtle, natural results that respect your expressions.

Under the Injection Esthétique banner, Dr. Lilian Carvalho, DMD, M.Sc., receives patients at our Valleyfield and Vaudreuil-Dorion clinics for a complimentary assessment. Treatments take 15 to 30 minutes, and neuromodulators can also be used therapeutically to relieve the jaw clenching and headaches associated with bruxism.

Treatments offered

  • Neuromodulators for frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet
  • Neuromodulators in the masseter muscles to relieve clenching and slim the lower face
  • Gummy smile correction and lip flip with neuromodulators
  • Hyaluronic acid fillers for the lips, nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Chin and jawline definition with fillers

How the treatment works, step by step

1. Complimentary assessment

Dr. Carvalho listens to your goals, examines your face at rest and in motion, and explains what is realistic, at what cost and with what maintenance.

2. Preparation

Photos are taken, the skin is cleaned and, for fillers, a numbing cream or a local anesthetic is applied.

3. Injections

Small, precise injections are placed in the targeted muscles or tissues; the session lasts 15 to 30 minutes.

4. Instructions

You receive advice for the first hours: no massage, no intense exercise, stay upright for a few hours after neuromodulators.

5. Two-week follow-up

The result is assessed and a small touch-up is done if needed.

6. Maintenance

Neuromodulators are repeated every three to four months, fillers every six to twelve months.

Benefits

  • Performed by a dentist with in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy
  • Measured, natural-looking results
  • Quick sessions with little or no downtime
  • Therapeutic use for jaw clenching and bruxism-related pain
  • Same clinics, same team, same file as your dental care

After the treatment: advice

  • Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours
  • Stay upright and avoid lying down for four hours after neuromodulators
  • Avoid intense exercise, alcohol and saunas for 24 hours
  • Slight redness, swelling or bruising can occur and fades within days
  • Book your two-week follow-up to assess the result

Alternatives and options

For lines caused by muscle contraction, neuromodulators are the reference treatment; skincare and sun protection slow their formation but do not erase them. For volume loss, fillers are the non-surgical option; surgical procedures are handled by plastic surgeons. For jaw clenching, a night guard is the first-line dental treatment and can be combined with masseter injections.

Frequently asked questions about cosmetic injections

Can a dentist perform Botox injections?

Yes. In Quebec, dentists who have completed the required training may perform botulinum toxin and filler injections within the scope defined by the Ordre des dentistes du Québec. Dr. Carvalho has that training and performs them at both Go Dentiste clinics.

Will the result look natural?

That is the goal. Doses are conservative and placed precisely to soften lines while keeping your expressions; a follow-up at two weeks allows a small touch-up if needed.

How long do results last?

Neuromodulators last three to four months; fillers six to twelve months depending on the product and the area. Regular maintenance keeps the result consistent.

Is it painful?

Injections use very fine needles and are brief. A numbing cream or a local anesthetic is used for fillers, so discomfort is minimal.

How much do injections cost?

The cost depends on the product and the number of units or syringes. A written estimate is given at the complimentary assessment. Cosmetic injections are not covered by insurance.

Where do I book?

At the Valleyfield clinic (450-377-7778) or the Vaudreuil-Dorion clinic (514-533-3368), or online through the Injection Esthétique website.
