Daycare, schools and family life in Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Beauharnois-Salaberry
The region attracts young families, and dental clinics adapt their schedules accordingly. Here are the practical reference points for a professional who has, or will have, children.

Are daycare spots available in the region?
As everywhere in Quebec, CPE spots are in demand; the region has CPEs, subsidized and private daycares, and home-based services. Register early on La Place 0-5. The new neighbourhoods of Vaudreuil and Saint-Zotique are seeing new facilities open with growth.
Which clinic schedules are compatible with daycare?
7-to-3 shifts (early drop-off and return before closing), weekend days (partner looks after the children) and four-day weeks. Go Dentiste offers these options across its clinics (weekend days in Valleyfield, weekday shifts in Vaudreuil-Dorion); see Work-life balance.
Which schools are there?
Public French elementary and high schools (Trois-Lacs and Vallée-des-Tisserands school service centres) and English ones (Lester B. Pearson), private schools, and CEGEPs in Valleyfield and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue (John Abbott). New schools follow neighbourhood growth.
Are there school daycare services and day camps?
Yes, in most schools (before and after class) and in every municipality in summer. For a clinic employee working days, school daycare covers the missing hours; municipal day camps cover the summer.
What do you do when a child is sick?
Use the family obligation days provided by law (two paid, up to ten a year) with early notice. A clinic with enough staff and a list of replacements handles those mornings without drama; ask at the interview how it works.
Are employees’ children treated at the clinic?
Often, with free or discounted preventive care for the family, complementing RAMQ, which covers certain care for children under 10. A family clinic with a children’s area makes these visits easy.
Which activities are there for families?
Arenas, pools, parks, bike paths, beaches (Saint-Zotique, Baie Saint-François), Mont Rigaud, libraries and municipal recreation. The region’s municipalities invest in family infrastructure as they grow.
Is parental leave handled well in the region’s clinics?
In well-run clinics, yes: preventive withdrawal if needed, organized replacement, gradual part-time return. A larger team absorbs a leave better. See Maternity leave, QPIP and returning to work.
Does living near the clinic really help family life?
Enormously: a fifteen-minute commute instead of forty-five is an hour a day given back to the children and less stress when something comes up. The three Go Dentiste clinics are less than 30 minutes from almost every municipality in the region.
How do you choose your clinic as a parent?
Look at the typical schedule, real flexibility (shift swaps, temporary hour reduction), distance, the sick-child policy and the accounts of employees who are parents. Then discuss it openly at the interview: Go Dentiste builds schedules with each person. See positions.
